Young Leaders in Action!

Throughout Key Stage 2, our pupils have had the opportunity to lead and manage warm ups during P.E lessons. A essential element in order to get the most out of Physical Education, the children have relished the chance to display and develop their leadership skills.

KS1 Multi-Skills Competition

In preparation for the KS1 multi-skills competition on Monday 21st January 2019, our children from Years 1 and 2 took part in a intra-school competition led by some of our Young Sports Leaders from Years 4, 5 and 6.

Active Literacy Lessons

Today Mr Clark continued the story of Space Pirates. The children landed on the purple planet and imagined what they could see outside their spaceship. They were introduced to the term “gravity” and had to walk around like they were floating. They also had to dodge asteroids and follow the captain’s commands. When all of a sudden, the red light began to flash on their fuel launchers. EEEKKKK! How are they going to get back to planet Earth?

Active Literacy Lessons

In Year 2, we have just begun Active Literacy lessons with Mr Clark from Soccer 2000. Last week he read the beginning of Space Pirates to us. We had to think about what the purple planet might look like and how we might move around in space. We then had to follow a set of instructions to build a spaceship. Finally, we had to follow the captain’s commands to help us complete our first mission. The children really enjoyed this lesson and are looking forward to part 2 this week.

Rockets!

Children in year 3 enjoyed a PE lesson with Mr Clark from Soccer 2000. Children followed instructions from the captain, built their own space  rockets and travelled around the purple planet!

Look out for some PE homework coming home this week to share with the family.
