This week the year 2 children have taken their science lesson into the park. They have been exploring habitats. First, they made predictions about what animals they would see and wouldn't see in the park. Then we walked through the park stopping to look at the animals we could see or signs that they live there. We managed to see geese, squirrels, magpies, ducks, pigeons, a heron and a rat! We saw nests in the trees and also the outside of the badgers sett. When we got back to class, we discussed the animals and why they chose to live in the park. A lot of animals live in the park to be close to the water or the trees. The park also provides these animals with plenty of food. Talk to your child about the visit to find out more information.
