Lunar New Year

This week in Nursery the children have explored Lunar New Year. We have had so much fun celebrating in lots of different ways. We read the story of the great race with the zodiac animals and retold the story. We have practised writing numbers in Chinese and have participated in lot's of creative activities. We made a hand print dragon, painted rabbits, collaged lanterns, made fans and many more! We made dragons out of junk modelling and then paraded up and down the outdoor area wearning them. Then in PE we learnt a lion dance and did some Lunar New Year themed yoga. Finally, we did some taste testing and have eaten, spring rolls, prawn crackers, noodles, egg fried rice and we even tried some sweet and sour sauce. It was very yummy!
