Year 6 have begun their new topic on how music is used to tell a story. We began the topic by listening to a piece of music and trying to work out what story it was trying to show and tell. We thought that the piece sounded dark and menacing. Art work was created to show how we responded to the music, and to show the images that the music conjured up for us. Later we found out the piece was called 'Night on Bare Mountain' by Mussorgsky. You can find out more about the story that the music was telling, and listen to the piece here: Modest Mussorgsky - A Night on the Bare Mountain - BBC Teach
What images does it create for you?
