We had a great lesson in science this week. The year 2 children were investigating, germs, how they spread and what is the best way to wash own hands. First, the children made their predictions and then we split into 3 groups. We discussed the fact we can't see germs so we used green glitter. We coated our hands in the glitter and were given 20 seconds to remove it. The group using only paper towels removed only a few germs, the group using only water removed around half the germs but the group using soap and water removed almost all the germs. We had great fun but SERIOUSLY, it's so important we wash our hands correctly to stop the spread of germs!
