Year 2 really enjoyed carryout an investigation to see which is the best way to wash our hands to ensure we are removing all the germs. First we identified three different ways to remove germs. The first was to try scrubbing them off with a paper towel, the second was to scrub our hands in just water and the third was to use soap and water. We all made our predictions before the experiment. Because we cannot see germs we got to dip our hands in glitter! We pretended that the glitter was the germs. We then split into three groups to test out the three different ways of removing germs. By carrying out the experiment the children could see how easily and quickly germs spread and also that germs can only be fully removed if you use soap and water together.
