Why does it matter where our food comes from?

In Geography, Year 2 have been looking at where our food comes from. We've enjoyed learning about dairy farms in Devon, how bananas are harvested in Costa Rica and exported to the UK and how sugar beet is grown and turned into sugar that we use in our home. We were very surprised to learn how much sugar is in many of the foods we eat and how we can try to reduce this.
